Pure delirium! Two new cassettes of desk-melting sound clashes and hysterically unpredictable free muzak from a mob that we had previously and falsely (of course) identified as “rabid Finns”, POLONIUS in fact raining down on us from Ontario, Canada. Low Company style!
Genuinely one of the most peculiar projects we’ve heard in years, bending and sculpting harsh and often juxtaposed sounds into a wildly spliced, cast iron structure that feels, even at it’s most subdued, RED HOT.
These two new efforts offer a notably more spacious stay than the controlled explosion of this mobs’ inaugural release for Ikuisuus that came earlier in the year. Delving into more tranquil realms and honing in on rich, eerie synthesis and explorative instrumentation, the polyrhythmic, planet-crashing sample-ggedon and molten effect splashes are (especially on “Gemini”) scaled back but still sorta EVERYWHERE, like they’ve been vaporised into a powerfully psychedelic gas that now subtly hangs in the atmosphere, creating an entirely alien ambience.
Covers A LOT of ground, would throw these two in the direction of anyone who get’s anything out of The Arkestra, Coil, Smegma…FUCK knows, really. Out on their own this lot.
Mind yer head!!
