Got To Stop Me / Hot Tarmac

Following on from last week's bracing self-titled CS on Round Bale, more spluttering vocal unease and heavy bass(ment) frequencies for the Komare Kompletists, this time on a 7" courtesy of Gothenburg's demolished-DIY powerhouse I Dischi Del Barone. The seamy early 80s reference points we wheeled out when hawking the tape hold firm - Storm Bugs, Shadow Ring, early TG - but for a more current touchstone we'd say the a-side’s got the same hold-your-gaze klangerous seduction of Group A’s ‘Circulation’ buttressed, believe it or not, with the kind of bone-shaking subz you might hear off a Shackleton track. The best of both (world-building) worlds. And though the vocal freakouts are similar in tone across both sides, the flip is radically transformed into a free-form Minimal Man square wave, square jawed, barely-there EBM junket. Can’t wait for Dischi to release a shit 7” so we can simply not include it in our mailer but truth is, that’ll probably never happen.
